June Club....

Just posting these months later- this was at the time I expectantly moved so I am a little tardy. I miss all my friends in the Yukon!!! I hope those I have not heard from are still making cards and all is well in their lives. Be well and get back to me anytime - friends for life!!!

Here are the cards from our last club although I am going to skip the credits this time... I think we all had a lot of fun as we got to make some choices and play a bit more- not always time for that in class. When heat embossing we showed how more can tarnish it a bit but some liked that look...

New dates to take note of:

The new sales period for the Fall/Winter Preview Brochure is August 11th-January 18th, 2009 so the Stampers Club will meet once a month September through January (5 times). We will continue to make 4 cards per class, learning lots of fabulous new techniques! Please let me know if you are interested and I will send a reminder for sign up and details of the club closer to that date :) The benefit of these new dates is that the end of one catalogue is not at Christmas time!

April Stamper 6 Club Night

I wanted to show ways you could use wet wipes in card making so I designed a fun psychedelic birthday card with a tie die look to it. We first stamped the background to make our own custom pattern. We stamped the girl to create a tie die dress, cut out and placed on top of the shadow image in background. We finally used the wet wipe to die a silk flower from the pretties kit. We stamped the saying and punched out in the small oval shape and layered over a coloured large oval. We used Diamond Glaze and re-inkers to form a coloured enamel in the stylized ribbon slide and then assembled it all together.

Stamps: She's All That (Occasions Mini Catalogue), So Much
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou
Paper: Whisper White, Purely Pomegranate, River Rock
Accessories: Pretties Kit, Lt Green Gingham ribbon, small and large oval punches, 2-way glue pen, Aqua Painter, Crystal Effects, Stylized Hodgepodge ribbon slide, wet wipes

I wanted a card that would be appropriate for fathers day if applicable. I just loved the little guy and had to use this one at least once! We used another baby wipe technique stamping the words in first and then using the wipe to fill the background paper. We used the circle punch to round the edges of the sentiment strip. We distressed the ribbon and sewed it onto the greeting piece with hemp thread. We watercoloured the image with SU! markers and high percentage alcohol (in a Aqua Painter) layering and layering to add shadows and a more real look...

See how the one little guy is more realistic- just more layers!!!

Stamps: For Father (Occasions Mini Catalogue), All Holidays
Ink: Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel,
Paper: Whisper White, Gable Green
Accessories: circle punch, Aqua Painter, hemp thread, Tools Kit, wet wipes, Jersey Ribbon Originals

This card uses a chalkboard technique (light colours on a dark background)... I know someone who loves hummingbirds so had to try :) I stamped the flower base in craft ink so it jumps off the page at you less than the bird as he is our focal and the flower... With the chalkboard technique we first rubbed the paper with the Embossing Buddy and layered white craft ink, then dabbed the pastel into the wet ink. Afterwards the excess chalk pretty much rubbed off with a brush or a Kleenex!

Stamps: Pretty Amazing, All Holidays
Ink: White Stazon, Gable Green Craft
Paper: Night of Navy
Accessories: Chalk Pastels, Sponge daubers, Embossing Buddy

This card uses many techniques combined together. We ran a wheel down the centre (some used the guide, some not, depending on if desired a straight or more organic feel). We used a mask over the page and stamped the script in silver and used the sponge cut into a section to dab the green over. We then did two step stamping with the daffodils and cut the paper afterwards with mat and blade to create an out of the box effect. The center was mounted on dimentionals. Some cards looked better on a diagnal some straight, depending on how the flowers lay.

Stamps: French Script, Wonderful You, Stems & SilhouettesInk: Sage Shadow, Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Close to Cocoa or Chocolate Chip, Silver Encore
Paper: So Saffron

March Stamper 6 Club

We did a scratch and sniff card with the new Tart & Tangy stamp set and Summer Picnic Designer Series paper from the Occasions Mini Catalogue. My good friend Lesley made fun of me because I suggested we do a second emboss to create more spleckles...

Stamps: Tart & Tangy (Occasions Mini)
Ink: Pumpkin Pie Craft, Versamark
Paper: Whisper White, Old Olive, Summer Picnic Designer Series
Accessories: Koolaid, Old Olive Poly Twill ribbon, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4" circle punches, Clear embossing powder

This card is almost straight out of the Occasions Mini catalogue. But the technique and look was perfect for the group and I thought it was gorgeous so... This stamp set is B-U-tiful!!!! Wish we could have used the other flower in the set today too but... only so much time and stuff to cover! We watercoloured with ink and did lots of grunging. I tried to get a detail shot so you could see the glitter...

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful (Occasions Mini)
Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Brown, Bashful Blue, Blue Bayou, Basic Black, Close to Cocoa, True Thyme (retired)
Paper: Confetti White, Kraft, Bashful blue
Accessories: Signo White gel pen, Lt blue gingham ribbon, spiral punch, pretties kit, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way glue pen, Aqua Painter, water mister

This card I saw similar version somewhere in my internet wanderings. I really loved how the window had the same image stamped on it and knew Lesley would love it! We also edged the ribbon in colour to customize it. Here we placed the crayons onto the paper and spread with the Aqua Painter.

Stamps: A Little bit of Happiness (Hostess)
Ink: Black Stazon
Paper: Garden Green, Whisper White, acetate
Accessories: White grosgrain ribbon, Aqua Painter, scotch tape, Watercolour Wonder Crayons Rich Regals

This card was everyone favourite because it is so easy and fast, yet it looks so great in the end. We painted the watercolour right onto the stamp, misted and pressed into the watercolour paper. We flicked and sponged to grunge it up. I think this is one of the most versatile stamp sets. Love it!!!!

Stamps: Live Your Dream (Occasions Mini)
Ink: Basic Brown
Paper: Watercolour paper, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: White grosgrain ribbon, Aqua Painter, water mister, Watercolour Wonder Crayons Earth Elements, Bronze Brads

Tea Time
(Only available until May 31st as mostly from the Occasion Mini catalogue)

Close the Loop

Points to keep in mind as you look at this kit and then see the examples I post, is that it comes from a scrapbook kit but is great for cards AND, it is a wedding set but there are so many non wedding things you can do with it too - it is really an extraordinary set!

Disclaimer Note: these kits are not pre-ordered and assembled as that would be a conflict of the SU! Stampin’ Up! Cash and Carry Policy. Because I am assembling them from products ordered at the time of customer order, they are, like all merchandise, applicable to normal tax and SH rates. All other standard policies are applicable (see back of invoice). It is only in multiple purchases I am able to do these kits and break up the individual packages. All merchandise in kit is current product- nothing is discontinued.

February Stamper6 Club

I hope this post makes sense. I have a terrible cold today...

This matchbook style card was making flowers using packing tape. We stamped the image first with black Stazon and then applied Pearlex powder with a dry watercolour brush to the sticky side of the image. The tape is then attached to white cardstock and cutout. Very shiny and artsy, not so perfect :)

Stamps: Embrace Life, Short & Sweet
Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery Print Designer Series
Accessories: Pearlex (from art store), packing tape, Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, stapler

This card I saw the basic design somewhere before and I thought the bookmark card idea was brilliant. I also wanted to incorporate in the use of the clear micro beads. I also love the stamp set! The picture just does not do this justice as the shine on the beads does not show well... I will repost when I take another picture...

Stamps: Embrace Life
Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Black, So Saffron, Summer Sun
Paper: So Saffron, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Summer Sun
Accessories: Micro beads, white taffeta ribbon, word punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, scallop punch, photo corners punch, acetate, giant paper clip from Staples

This card used embossing, rub on, 2 step stamping techniques. It is lovely how the stamp set matches the paper and rubons...

Stamps: A Beautiful Life
Ink: Basic Black, White craft, Taken with Teal craft
Paper: Groovy Guava, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Whisper White, Bali Breeze Designer Series
Accessories: natural hemp, large oval punch, 1/2 circle punch, Tool Kit, Eastern Elegance Rubons, clear embossing powder

This card used the brayer to make a lovely spectrum background. I hoped it gave the feeling of looking out the window at a nice bright cheery spring/summer scene. Nice when we are -20s...

Stamps: Essence of Love, Weathered background
Ink: Basic Black, Black craft, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, Brilliant Blue
Paper: More Mustard, Whisper White, White Glossy paper
Accessories: Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, black embossing powder, brayer, new ribbon slide from the Occasions Mini

Disclaimer note added to February kits

I added a note to the February kits to address any questions with conflict to the Stampin' Up! Cash and Carry policy as I cannot sell product from my home that I stock for customer use. The idea of the kits is to have 3-4 people buy one, I can break up sets and divy up. It is to help those that are new get a variety of goods. It is not a reselling of what I have on hand. I hope that clears up any current and future questions. :)

Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Regal Rose
Paper: Regal Rose, Real Red, Whisper White, Vellum
Accessories: Regal Rose Ribbon, Real Red Ribbon, Label Punch, Silver Embossing Powder, Brads, 1/2" Circle Punch

February Kits

Disclaimer Note: these kits are not pre-ordered and assembled as that would be a conflict of the SU! Stampin’ Up! Cash and Carry Policy. Because I am assembling them from products ordered at the time of customer order, they are, like all merchandise, applicable to normal tax and SH rates. All other standard policies are applicable (see back of invoice). It is only in multiple purchases I am able to do these kits and break up the individual packages. All merchandise in kit is current product- nothing is discontinued.

I thought these kits would be nice for newer customers as well as convenient for others. I know that when you are first new to Stampin'Up! products it is easy to want a lot of different product. It takes awhile to build stock up but I hope this will help. You will get a nice selection at the retail cost (more goodies just smaller quantities of each)!! For those that loved my Christmas card kits this is similar in that I have matched everything up for you so you can have a lot of fun but I am not designing the cards. Each set should make 12-16 cards or 3 double layout scrapbook pages. The possibilities are endless! There are plenty of accessories and you should have some left over to use with other projects as well and a beautiful stamp set for your collection. I think it is an economical way to start playing faster! And 2 kits will meet the minimum for a free SAB set (see brochure below) so that is a great reason to stock up and get free product :) Note though, for those in Stamper 6 club I have ordered you a SAB set already, so to get another free set you need to spend $70.00 (note: dropped from $75.00) over the minimum but the good news is these kits would meet the monthly minimum!!! And they are based on the latest in styles out in the card making/ scrap booking world!

NOTE: the little squares with 1 1/2" cuts of the patterned paper are a sampling to show you the related patterns that will come in each 6x12" Designer Series paper set.

Saturday was my Whitehorse group's first Stampin 6 Meeting

Lots of fun. Created some cute cards- see below:

The first card/project was a Valentines Bag Topper using some materials from the current SU! Valentines promotion- I know I saw a similar style out there somewhere and thought so cute! I changed some colours to match candies as they were a gift from me to the girls as they support breast cancer. I used some of the other supplies from the promotion on other cards.

Stamps: Double Line Doodles, Happy Heart Day
Ink: Basic Black, Rose Red, Taken With Teal, Certainly Celery
Paper: Taken With Teal, Whisper White, Rose Red, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Medium Cellophane bags, tag punches, 1/2" circle punch, black hemp

This card is multiple layers. The mouse tail was crazy!! I saw it done elsewhere and it is finicky but great rewards I think... I sent away to a young man that has my heart for Valentines :)

The second card was so much fun! I saw it done on a web-a-sode and was so excited to try. The interlocking envelope close with silver embossed hearts. The card can be loose or attached inside. I was so excited to use the new Always set from SU! as the images are adorable and so trendy! I think I will keep this one awhile for an example!!!

Stamps: Always
Ink: Versamark, Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Porcelain Prints DS, River Rock, Very Vanilla, Blue Bayou
Accessories: 1/2" circle punch, Silver embossing powder

The third card was inspired by a design I saw and borrowed the general idea but simplified a great deal for class purposes. The little birds in A Little Birdie Told Me are so cute! The heart is dry embossed. I mailed this one out to another special little man in my life who sounded like a bird about a year ago LOL... Unfortunately it had a wee accident with a very apologetic lady in class but still sweet so I sent out... happy Valentines my little baby eagle xo

Stamps: A Little Birdie Told Me, Short & Sweet
Ink: Basic Black, Rose Red
Paper: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose. Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Regal Rose Ribbon, Priceless Brass Template

The forth card was using emboss resist technique. I had to use all the images in Always so the rest not used before are used here. I mailed this to my sister in law for her birthday - like me she was born close to Valentines Day- a fellow Aquarius- so Valentinesy is appropriate.

Stamps: Always
Ink: Pretty in Pink craft, Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink craft, Soft Sky, Berry Bliss DS
Accessories: 1 1/4" circle punch, Clear embossing powder, Build a Brad, 1/2" circle punch

Now to figure out which card to give the big love in my life for Valentines ;)
